Two towers blown up
On 13 May 2012 two towers with a total of 312 apartments were blown up and turning into 30,000 tons of concrete waste.
This was a result of many months of planning and preparation.
We cut out the concrete around the shafts in the building, so the asbestos from them could be removed securely.
But the most important task was to make the two towers unstable in the right places, and to drill holes in the ends of the steel wires. Both were made to ensure that the houses collapsed in a secure way after the explosion.
The result was a piece of Danish history. Never had two buildings that tall been blown up before. It was a perfect operation witnessed by hundreds of people on site and broadcasted live on national Danish television.
